Police: Shots fired after 2 Rock Hill women fight over man
Rock Hill Police this weekend charged a 34-year-old woman with attempted murder after she was accused of shooting at a woman. The dispute started because the two women were involved in a relationship with the same man, according to police records.
Ebony McClinton was arrested shortly after the incident which happened outside a Whitgreen Street home late Friday night, according to the police report. A 35-year-old woman told officers that McClinton fired four shots at her car as she was leaving the house, the report states.
She told police that she and McClinton had been arguing and had a “physical altercation” about dating the same man. Officers found a bullet hole in the rear passenger side of the Nissan, the report states.
The woman was not injured.
McClinton told police that no one fired a gun during any altercation at the home, according to the incident report. After speaking with witnesses, though, police arrested McClinton.
Jail officials said Monday that McClinton was released from Rock Hill’s jail on Saturday on a $50,000 bond.
