Woman accidentally stabs mother during fight with brother in Rock Hill
A Rock Hill woman is accused of injuring her mother with a kitchen knife after a weekend argument with her brother inside their apartment.
Police arrested the woman – Andria Jennings, age 22 – on Friday night after she told officers she was trying to stab her brother but accidentally cut her mother, who was attempting to restrain her during the fight, according to Rock Hill police records.
The woman was taken to the hospital for medical treatment after the stabbing, police say.
Jennings was upset with her brother because he wouldn’t let her borrow his car, according to the police report. As she approached her brother with a kitchen knife, Jennings’ mother tried to stop her and was cut on her right hand, the report states.
Officers found Jennings in a car inside the apartment complex, where she was crying and told an officer “she meant to stab her brother but her mother got in the way,” according to police.
Police charged Jennings with assault and battery/aggravated assault, records show.
