No charges brought in Rock Hill brawl broken up by gunshot, police say
Police responded to a Monday night brawl that was broken up after both sides reported hearing a gunshot, according to a Rock Hill Police Department report.
The incident happened at the corner of Arnold Street and Ogden Road. Officers found a man there bleeding from the mouth at about 7:45 p.m., the report says.
He told officers that he has been having arguments with another man for a while, the report said. He said that man, his father and a few others drove to his house to start a fight Monday night, the report says.
The injured man told officers one person used a knife, and that another may have used pepper spray, while a third person threatened to use a wooden board in the fight, the report says.
Officers also spoke with the other man involved, the report says.
The second man told officers he argued with someone at a football game earlier that week, and that he, his mother and his father were going to that man’s house Monday night to get the address so they could press charges, the report says.
The second man said the homeowner came outside and started a fight, and that another person was pistol whipped when he tried to stop the fight, the report says.
The second man said his family stopped fighting and left when they heard a gunshot, the report says.
No one was arrested due to the “many conflicting stories,” the report says.
