Rock Hill mom arrested after girls tell father about drug use
A Rock Hill woman has been charged with drug possession after her daughters reportedly told their father she was using drugs and neglecting them.
The children, ages 11 and 6, told their father about their mother’s issues and he called the police, according to an incident report.
When officers went to interview Rebecca Hardwick, 31, at her home on Pitts Street, they could smell a strong odor of marijuana. There were two other adults in the house. The children were at a neighbor’s house.
Hardwick told officers someone had last smoked marijuana at the house about 30 minutes ago. She said marijuana was the only drug she had.
Officers found a jar with marijuana, half a Valium pill and powder cocaine with several straws, the report states.
Hardwick then told officers she was a regular marijuana user, used cocaine two days ago and said she took the Valium for back pain.
She was charged with possession of cocaine, marijuana and Valium, according to the report.
The father took custody of the children.
