Man arrested on drug charges near Chester park
A 22-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on drug charges near Jones-Adair Park in Chester, according to Chester Police Department.
Police say officers responded to a fight in progress on Odom Street near the Jones-Adair Park.
When officers arrived, a man ran toward Caldwell Street, police say.
Ankee Draequon Pendergrass was arrested, a report says. He had $1,187 in cash with him at the time, police say.
Officers also found 12.69 grams of a “green leafy substance believed to be marijuana” near where Pendergrass was running.
Pendergrass is charged with failure to stop on police command, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana in proximity of a school or public park.
