Rock Hill man who witness said was ‘about to shoot everybody’ charged after chase
A Rock Hill man faces felony weapon and theft charges after pointing a gun at a man outside a store Saturday, then stealing the man’s car, police said.
Kanadre Kapree Steele, 21, is being held at the York County jail under a $50,000 bond. He is charged with grand larceny, pointing and presenting a gun and failure to stop for a blue light, police and jail records show.
In the incident Saturday afternoon, officers were flagged down by a woman, who told police that a man with a gun near the Park Grocery on East Main Street was “about to shoot everybody,” the incident report states.
Officers found the car that Steele is accused of stealing near the grocery store. Steele fled “at a high rate of speed” in the car, police said. Steele then got out of the car and ran, but was caught after a foot chase, officers said.
