Man pointed a gun in Rock Hill restaurant hit-and-run, victim reports
A man told Rock Hill police someone hit his car and pointed a gun at him in a Bojangles parking lot Wednesday morning, police say.
Police were called to the Bojangles on East Main Street at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to a Rock Hill police report.
The victim told police he was driving around the parking lot when a man driving a 2015 Nissan Altima backed into his car from a parking space, the report says.
The victim said he tried to block the man in the parking space when the man tried to drive away, the report says.
The driver hit the fence in the parking lot, then got out of the Altima and walked up to the victim’s driver window, the report says.
The victim said the man tried to take his car keys out of the ignition, the report says.
The victim told police that when the man wasn’t able to get the keys, he pointed a gun in the victim’s face, the report says.
The report says the driver then got back in the Altima and drove away.
A witness at the scene saw the collisions and the driver’s attempt to take the victim’s keys, the report says.
The witness said she didn’t see a gun, and surveillance footage didn’t capture the incident, the report says.
This case is still open.
