A man and a woman were charged with drug crimes early Wednesday morning when Rock Hill police found ecstasy, cocaine, marijuana and open beer cans in a car they were sitting in.

According to a Rock Hill Police Department report, officers pursued a red Dodge Journey that was speeding on Herlong Avenue until it stopped on Steeplechase Drive. Jarin Jenkins, 34, and Christopher Walker, 30, both said they were passengers in the car, but they refused to identify the driver.

Officers say they were able to determine that the driver fled on foot before police made contact. The report states officers placed Jenkins and Walker under arrest after finding ecstasy dose units lying outside the vehicle. close to where they were standing.

Police say they then found 42 dose units of ecstasy, around 0.37 grams of cocaine, nearly 11 grams of marijuana and two open Bud Light cans in the front passenger seat cup holder and in the driver’s side door handle.

Jenkins and Walker were both transported to the Rock Hill City Jail. Jenkins and Walker were both charged with possession of ecstasy with intent to distribute. Walker was booked for possession of cocaine, and both were cited for possession of marijuana.

The report states that officers saw a black shoe in the road and determined that the driver fled. The report states an officer made contact with an unnamed person walking in the CVS parking lot on Herlong Avenue with no shoes. The person told police he left after getting into an argument with his girlfriend up the road and that was why he had no shoes and was covered in leaves.

The case was cleared by arrest.
