Woman accused of assault on former boyfriend

Authorities say a York County woman accused of kicking and hitting her ex-boyfriend, slashing a tire on his car, and then fleeing from police is in jail.

Officers accuse Portia Odessa Macon, 29, of assaulting her ex-boyfriend on Friday night in Rock Hill at an apartment on Cedar Post Lane, according to Rock Hill police records. The man told officers that Macon kicked in the back door of the apartment, hit him in the face, kicked him and ripped his clothes, a police report states.

A woman at the home confirmed the man’s story and told officers that Macon broke her cellphone and slashed her car tires outside the apartment, police say. Macon also is accused of slashing a tire on her ex-boyfriend’s car and taking his car keys, according to the police report.

When police arrived, Macon was there and yelling at her ex-boyfriend, officers say. When officers asked Macon to step out of her car to talk about the situation, she told them, “Come get me,” according to the report.

Police say Macon then sped off. Later, officers tried to pull Macon over near Pearson Drive and Southland Drive, but authorities say she refused to stop.

Department records show that officers issued warrants for Macon’s arrest on charges of failure to stop for blue lights, damage to personal property, criminal domestic violence, petty larceny, burglary and child endangerment. Officers say witnesses believe Macon had two children in her car when she fled police on Friday.

Macon was arrested and booked into the Moss Justice Detention Center in York on Monday, according to police records.

The York County Sheriff’s Office website lists Macon’s address as in McConnells.
