Clover police arrest check-cashing armed robbery suspect
Police have arrested a convicted felon from North Carolina in connection with the armed robbery of a Clover check-cashing business Monday.
James Arthur Thomason Jr., 30, of Gastonia, faces five charges – armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping, and two weapons charges – Clover police said Wednesday.
A second person who helped with the getaway vehicle is being sought.
A clerk was robbed at gunpoint around 2:20 p.m. Monday at the Approved Cash Payday Loans on Bethel Street near downtown Clover.
The robbers fled in a white Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, estimated to be a model from 1999 to 2004.
