Woman says she was kidnapped from Rock Hill parking lot

Rock Hill police are investigating after a woman said she was kidnapped at knifepoint from a parking lot on Celanese Road.

The 33-year-old woman told police she was in a parking lot on Celanese Road at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. She said she opened her passenger side door when two men approached her, shoved her into the vehicle and pointed a large kitchen knife at her, according to a police report.

She said the men forced her to drive them to the back of a supermarket in the 2700 block of Celanese Road, where they attempted to pull her clothes off. When she resisted, she said the men began punching her and gave her several minor cuts with the knife.

After threatening her if she called the police, the men took her cell phone and ran on foot from the area. The woman then sought treatment for her injuries and reported the attack to police.

It remains under investigation by the Rock Hill police department and the York County Sheriff’s Office, which has jurisdiction over the site of the attempted sexual assault.
