A Rock Hill teenager stands accused of pointing a gun at another young man out of a car window on a busy roadway, causing the other vehicle to get into a wreck, according to a police report.

Jamonte Jaiquan William Baker, 17, is charged with pointing a firearm, unlawful carrying of a pistol, possession of a firearm under the age of 21, and criminal conspiracy, according to the report.

Around 6 p.m. Monday, Rock Hill police were called to a car accident on the 1400 block of Celanese Road. The 17-year-old driver told police he was trying to escape another young man pointing a gun at him out of a car window.

The man told police he was walking in the Hunter’s Chase neighborhood when he noticed Baker and others following him in a silver Mitsubishi sedan. He said he and Baker have a history of fighting each other. When he noticed Baker, he said he tried to leave the area in his car, but the sedan followed him. He saw Baker pointing a small black handgun at him while he was stuck in traffic.

The victim said he tried to push his way through traffic to get away, and ended up rear ending another vehicle.

Rock Hill police took Baker into custody on Wednesday. No other occupants of the sedan have been identified.
