Police: Clover woman causes $2,400 in damage to cars
Police in two towns got involved when a Clover woman reportedly damaged her ex-boyfriend’s car and slashed his tires, along with those of his new girlfriend, causing thousands of dollars in damages.
Authorities in York were alerted by a man on the 300 block of New Street who woke up at 3:40 a.m. when his dog started barking. He looked outside and saw his ex-girlfriend slashing the tires on his and his new girlfriend’s cars, according to the police report.
When the man went outside to confront her, she fled the scene in her own vehicle, nearly hitting her ex as she drove off, the victim told police.
York police searched the area but were unable to locate the woman or her car, but the man told them she lived on Winthrop Street in Clover. Police radioed the information to the Clover Police Department, and Clover officers arrested the woman at her residence and turned her over to York police.
The report lists cuts to two of the ex-boyfriend’s tires and three of his new girlfriend’s, as well as a broken passenger mirror and scratches to the driver’s and passenger’s side doors. The damage was estimated at a total of $2,380.
The woman was charged with damage to personal property.
