Lake Wylie Walmart worker accused of stealing from cash register

A Gastonia woman was arrested this weekend by York County deputies after her employer – Walmart – accused her of taking $190 from her cash register over the past four weeks.

Sheriff’s Office records show that Amanda Huffsteller Lingerfelt, age 26, was charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent. Deputies say the theft happened at the Lake Wylie Walmart.

Store officials accuse Lingerfelt of taking between $40 and $60 from her till on four occasions, starting on March 23, according to the sheriff’s office report. Deputies watched video of the alleged theft before issuing warrants, the report states.
