Holiday thieves strike in York. $1,500 in Air Jordans stolen from under Christmas tree.

Holiday thieves have struck in York County after 10 pairs of Christmas gift Air Jordan sneakers valued at $1,500 were stolen from under a woman’s Christmas tree.

The woman, who lives on a small road off S.C. 274 between York and Clover, told police there were 10 pairs of Nike sneakers missing from under the tree, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office police report. The value of the sneakers is estimated at $1,500. The theft occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Saturday and early Sunday, according to the report.

Responding deputies on Sunday said the house appeared “ransacked” with items tossed around, and a window air conditioning unit had been taken from a front window, according to the report. Crime scene technicians and forensic specialists also responded.

The woman said the front door was open when she returned home, and “the only people who would have known she was gone were those who followed her on Snapchat,” the report states.

No arrests have been made.
