Burglar tears pictures off wall in Rock Hill church break-in
A Rock Hill church was broken into and vandalized earlier this week, according to a Rock Hill police report.
Police were called to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saluda Road after 2 p.m. Tuesday when a break-in was discovered.
Someone apparently entered the church by breaking out a back side window. Once inside, the burglar pulled down four pictures that were anchored to a wall and broke them. The intruder also pulled a phone receiver out of the wall and threw it to the ground. The damage was estimated at $600, the report states.
Police estimated the break-in occurred sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 1:50 p.m. Tuesday.
Officers searched the church for prints and are continuing to investigate.
