A Rock Hill man, wanted for attempted murder in a shooting earlier this month, was arrested after he was found hiding in a false room behind a toilet, police said.

Fronta Pernell McCrorey, 36, was found hiding behind a false wall in a house on Archive Street, Rock Hill police said. He was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a weapon by a felon, said Capt. Mark Bollinger of the Rock Hill Police Department.

McCrorey was wanted for a shooting at a convenience store in early January, Bollinger said.

Officers went to the Archive Street home after finding a car they believed was connected to McCrorey outside the home, an incident report from the arrest Thursday shows. Two people inside told officers that McCrorey was not inside, police said.

Officers did a sweep of the home and found McCorey behind the false wall in the rear of the home.
