Suspect caught after I-77 police chase from Charlotte to Chester Co.
The York County Sheriff’s Office police dog tracked down the suspect involved in a police chase on Interstate 77 from Charlotte through York County and into Chester County.
The car made it to Chester County before pulling over on the side of the road just past mile marker 70 just after 4 p.m. Thursday. The suspect got out of the car and ran into the woods.
The chase lasted about 20 minutes, according to The Herald’s news partner, WSOC-TV.
The suspect was apprehended just before 5 p.m. His name has not been released.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and York County deputies assisted in the chase. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s helicopter, Snoopy, was also involved.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, the chase started in the metro division. Police heard it was a stolen vehicle.
