York police were called to a fast-food restaurant after an irate drive-through customer reportedly assaulted an employee by throwing a drink on her when the customer discovered her order was missing French fries.
Police arrived after the 2 a.m. order at the Wendy’s on East Liberty Street took an ugly turn on April 26. The employee told police the woman began complaining about the French fries being left off her order. The woman then threw the drink she ordered back through the drive-thru window at the employee, striking her in the chest, according to the report.
The dissatisfied customer then took off in a white-and-gray, older-model Crown Victoria on Liberty Street headed toward Rock Hill. The fast-food employee memorized the license plate, which came back to a vehicle registered in Columbia, but officers were unable to identify the driver.
The employee insisted she did give the woman fries.
