Nine cars broken into, one stolen, overnight on Eden Terrace, Myrtle Drive

Nine cars were broken into on a residential block between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, and one SUV was reported stolen, according to multiple reports taken by Rock Hill police.

Police are investigating a string of break-ins on the 700 and 800 blocks of Myrtle Drive and Eden Terrace. One man reported his silver 2006 Toyota Highlander was stolen out of his garage after he left the garage door open overnight with the keys in the driver’s seat. The car is valued at $13,000.

The thief also entered the man’s unlocked 2013 BMW, although nothing appeared to be stolen. Other break-ins were reported separately in the same area, and the victims had the following items stolen; $18 and change from the center console; a $600 pair of prescription sunglasses; a $5 pair of sunglasses, $5 in change, and a $5 drawstring sports bag; and a $400 dashboard radio.

The report notes several of the vehicles were left unlocked.

One victim reported hearing music coming from his front yard, and discovered a smartphone left at the scene. The phone was taken into evidence.
