A woman who was shot in the hip late Wednesday said two masked men forced their way into her home, shot her and then fled, according to the Rock Hill Police Department.

The shooting happened about 9:15 p.m. in the 1100 block of Constitution Boulevard near the Boyd Hill neighborhood, police spokesman Mark Bollinger said.

The 24-year-old victim told officers she and another woman were in the home when two men they did not know, wearing all black with masks covering their faces, broke through a rear door, according to a police report. The victim said the men came to the doorway of her bedroom, and that one of them shot her while she was standing by the bed. The men then fled on foot.

The victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, Bollinger said.

Officers with K-9 teams attempted to track the shooter near the intersection of Constitution and Cherry Road, but no leads were developed. The second woman who lives in the home corroborated the victim’s story, but investigators were unable to obtain additional information from either woman.
