Gunman sought in Lancaster ATM attempted robbery
Lancaster Police are searching for a man who tried to rob an ATM customer at gunpoint late Wednesday.
The customer was using a drive-up ATM at the Founder’s Federal Credit Union on the Highway 9 bypass about 10 p.m. when a man armed with a handgun approached the customer and demanded money, according to a statement from Lancaster Police. The victim immediately accelerated and fled uninjured and without giving the suspect any money.
The male suspect was wearing blue jeans, a camouflage jacket, gloves, sunglasses and had his face covered, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call the Lancaster Police Department at 803-283-3313 or 803-283-1174, or the anonymous tip line at 803-289-6040.
