Police: Student charged after touching girl in South Pointe school elevator

A 16-year-old Rock Hill boy was charged with assault after inappropriately touching a girl in the elevator at South Pointe High School, according to Rock Hill Police.

A school official told officers the incident happened Wednesday morning in the school elevator and that he had spoken with the victim and suspect.

The victim told the school official the boy asked to see her private parts and she said ‘no,’ according to a police report. The suspect then reportedly stuck his hands into the girl’s pants. He told the school official he touched the girl, “but only on the outside of her pants.”

The teen was charged with second-degree assault and battery and released to a family member. The boy’s name is not being released because he is a juvenile.
