‘Longtime’ employee accused of stealing gun from Rock Hill store

A store employee is accused of stealing a gun from his employer and trying to cover up the theft.

Bryan Ramsey Guinn, 65, of Fudge Guinn Road in Edgemoor was charged this week with breach of trust with fraudulent intent, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report. He was placed in the York County detention center but had been released.

The managers of Nichols Store in Rock Hill told deputies they discovered during an inventory that a rifle was not accounted for, according to a sheriff’s report. Video surveillance showed Guinn, described in the report as “a longtime employee,” stealing the gun and taking “active steps to cover up the theft.”

Deputies on Tuesday arrested Guinn, who said he did not want to speak with officers and asked for an attorney. The rifle has not been recovered.
