Man shot dead Monday night in Rock Hill; search for suspect ongoing, police say
A Rock Hill man has died after being shot several times Monday night, police said.
The victim is 24 years old, said Lt. Michael Chavis of the Rock Hill Police Department. The name of the victim has not been released by the York County Coroner’s Office.
The shooting happened around 10 p.m. near Archer Drive and Blackmon Street off Albright Road on the city’s southern edge, Chavis said.
Officers found the victim lying in the road with several gunshot wounds, Chavis said.
EMS and other emergency responders went to the scene. The victim died at the scene, Chavis said.
As of Tuesday morning, police had not made any arrests. The homicide is being investigated as a murder, Chavis said.
“The investigation is ongoing with our detective division,” Chavis said.
Chavis did not release any other information about the crime scene or the incident.
