Shooting at bar near Carowinds leaves 2 men injured, sheriff’s office says

Two people were shot Sunday at a bar in northern York County near the North Carolina state line, deputies said.

The shooting happened at the Drunken Goat off Carowinds Boulevard, said Trent Faris, spokesman for the York County Sheriff’s Office. Two people were injured. Their wounds do not appear to be life-threatening, Faris said.

The victims were driven by others to Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, N.C., Faris said.

The shooting happened around 12:15 a.m., according to a sheriff’s office incident report. A Charlotte man, 23, and a Rock Hill man, 27, were both wounded, the report states. One of the victims was shot in the chest, deputies said.

The shooting happened after an argument near the bar’s pool tables, deputies said.

The suspect fled before deputies arrived, according to the report. The location is close to the Charlotte city limits north of Fort Mill.

No arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing, detectives said Monday.
