A man smoked a cigar at a Rock Hill Waffle House. Then a shotgun came out, police say

A man was arrested Saturday after firing a shotgun outside a Rock Hill Waffle House following an argument over cigar smoking inside the restaurant, police said.

Johnathan Shane Gladden, 24, was charged with discharging a firearm in the city limits, according to a Rock Hill Police Department report.

The incident happened after 2 a.m. Saturday near the Waffle House restaurant on Cherry Road, the report stated.

A woman told police Gladden was smoking a cigar inside and she asked him to stop, the report stated.

The argument became physical outside the restaurant, then a shotgun was fired, police said in the report.

Officers found shotgun wadding from a spent shell in the parking lot.

Gladden had left the scene and was later located, according to the report. A shotgun was found inside his vehicle, police said.

No injuries were reported and no one was shot, police said.
