Police: Thieves steal $12,000 in batteries from AT&T stores near Clover

Deputies in York County are investigating the theft of at least 40 cellphone site batteries taken from two AT&T locations in western York County near Clover, according to police reports.

Company officials reported the thefts of the batteries worth at least $12,000 earlier this week after employees saw the batteries were missing from locations on S.C. 55 and S.C. 49, police reports show.

Crime scene technicians responded to both locations.
