3 charged for trafficking meth after York raid, seizure nets almost an ounce of drugs
Three people are charged with trafficking methamphetamine after police seized about an ounce of the drug during a raid Wednesday in York, officials said.
Kimberly Lynn Smith Moore, 42, of Mooresboro, N.C., Alisha Michelle McGaha, 33, of Gaffney, and Victor Lamon Bonner, 36, who has no permanent address, were arrested, according to police and York County jail records.
All three face a minimum of 25 years in prison, up to 30 years, under South Carolina law if convicted of meth trafficking. Each of the suspects has two previous felony drug convictions, according to police and court records.
Officers with the York Police Department and drug agents from the York County Mutijurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit found the drugs and suspects during a raid and search in the 700 block of U.S. 321 Bypass, said B.J. Kennedy, commander of the drug unit.
Officers seized 27 grams of meth, and doses of a another narcotic drug similar to Xanax, Kennedy said.
Methamphetamine is a powerful, highly addictive stimulant also called ice, crank and crystal, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
Each is also charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute near a park or school, records show.
