Police: York County suspect under restraining order stabs woman, tries to run her over

Police in York are seeking a man under a restraining order who is accused of stabbing a woman several times, then trying to run her over with a car.

A judge has issued an arrest warrant charging attempted murder against Paul Michael Jordan, 43, of Smyrna, in western York County, according to police documents and Andy Robinson, York Police Department chief.

Robinson said York officers and other police agencies are looking for Jordan.

The victim, from York County, had a domestic violence order of protection against Jordan that had been issued in North Carolina, police said.

The victim was found Tuesday outside the York County Sheriff’s Office at the Moss Justice Center in York after she had been stabbed in a car in the parking lot of a nearby bank, according to a police incident report. The victim had what appeared to be stab wounds to her head, both thighs, and shoulder, police said.

The woman escaped from the car and but then was hit by that car before it fled, police said. A passerby took the woman to the sheriff’s office for assistance, police said.

She was hospitalized after being taken to Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill for her injuries, Robinson said.
