One driver killed and another injured in head-on collision near Rock Hill, troopers say
One driver was killed in a head-on collision near Rock Hill early Sunday morning, officials said.
The crash happened around 5:15 a.m. on Adnah Church Road near Windsong Lane in York County, said Master Trooper Gary Miller of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
A 2016 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling south on Adnah Church Road, crossed the center line and collided with a 2018 Silverado pickup truck head-on, Miller said.
The driver of the Malibu, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, Miller said. The driver was entrapped in the car and was “extricated by mechanical means,” Miller said.
The York County Coroner’s Office has not released the driver’s name. There were no passengers in the Malibu, Miller said.
The driver of the Silverado, who was also wearing a seat belt, was injured and transported to Piedmont Medical Center, Miller said. There were no passengers in the car, Miller said.
