Report: Man pulled gun over handicap parking space at Rock Hill store

An unknown man allegedly pulled a gun on a woman who pulled into a handicap parking space at a Rock Hill business that he apparently intended to use, according to Rock Hill Police.

The incident happened about 12:40 p.m. Saturday at a store on Mount Gallant Road, according to a police report. Witnesses told police a woman pulled into a handicap parking space in front of the store’s main entrance, and that an unknown man in a black Chevrolet Trailblazer pulled up beside her vehicle and began shouting profanity at her.

The witnesses said the male suspect “was apparently intent on using the spot” and became angry that the woman took it first, police said. Two witnesses approached the suspect and told him to calm down and leave. The suspect told them, “I got something for you,” and pulled a handgun wrapped in plastic from the glove compartment of the vehicle.

The suspect then left the parking lot traveling south on Mount Gallant Road toward Celanese Road.
