Motorcyclist killed in Rock Hill crash; Fort Mill man charged with fatal DUI
A Fort Mill man is charged with driving under the influence causing death after a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist in Rock Hill, police said.
Freddy Sanders, 63, is charged with felony DUI resulting in death after the wreck Saturday night around 10 p.m. on West Main Street in the Boyd Hill neighborhood, said Lt. Michael Chavis of the Rock Hill Police Department.
Sanders was driving a Honda Ridgeline when the truck collided with a motorcycle, Chavis said. The driver of the motorcycle died at Piedmont Medical Center hospital, Chavis said.
The identity of the motorcycle driver has not yet been released by the York County Coroner’s Office.
The police department’s accident reconstruction team, patrol units, and forensic team investigated the wreck.
Sanders remains in the York County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond, jail records show.
