Seven face charges, 4 kilos of fentanyl, guns, cash seized in York County drug bust
More than four kilograms of fentanyl, guns and cash were seized Wednesday in raids by federal agents and police in Rock Hill and Fort Mill.

Raids at locations in Fort Mill, Rock Hill and York County were part of an investigation into the manufacture and sale of fentanyl pills, said B.J. Kennedy, commander of the York County Multijurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit.
Police from the York County Sheriff’s Office, Rock Hill Police Department, and Fort Mill Police Department, along with federal agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Drug Enforcement Administration, found about 4,500 grams of fentanyl mixture, Kennedy said.
“This is one of the largest fentanyl seizures that we have seen in York County,” Kennedy said.
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid pain reliever that is 50-100 times more potent than morphine, according to the Centers for Disease Control website. Illegal fentanyl also has been linked to overdose deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
Officers seized two presses used to make pills, seven guns, and more than $23,000 in cash, Kennedy said.
Officers also seized around seven pounds of marijuana, Kennedy said.
One of the places that was searched was an lab in Fort Mill, believed to have been used to make the pills, Kennedy said.
Seven people from Rock Hill, Fort Mill and Charlotte were arrested on drug charges of varying severity during the service of search warrants, according to police and jail records. Three of those arrested were charged with possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute, according to police and jail records.
Darius Maurice Perry, 51, of Fort Mill, Marquis Javaughn Hall, 23, of Rock Hill, and Timothy Malik Holley, 22, of Fort Mill, each face counts of possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute, and charges of possession of a die stamp from the pill presses, police and jail records show. Each also faces other drug charges including possession of drugs with intent to distribute near a school or park, according to police records.
Perry, Hall, and Holley are being held without bond at the Moss Justice Center jail in York.
Four other suspects also face drug charges, according to police records. Three were charged with non-distribution related offenses, and a fourth was cited for marijuana possession. They all have been released.
A first offense for possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute carries a potential punishment of up to 15 years in prison, South Carolina law shows.
