Police: Man shot in crossfire during gunfire at a block party in Clover
A man was shot in the neck and arm at a block party Sunday in Clover, police said.
The condition and identity of the 30-year-old man has not been released.
The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. on Queensgate Road, said Capt. Logan McGarity of the Clover Police Department. There were a large number of people at the block party, McGarity said.
“The victim in this case we believe was hit by crossfire, and we don’t believe was the intended target,” McGarity said.
Officers responded to the scene and found another person had been assaulted, according to a Clover police report.
While on scene police were told the gunshot victim from the block party scene was found at a residence on Capetown Lane, the report said. He was transported to Piedmont Medical Center for treatment, according to the report. Capetown Lane is in another neighborhood on the other side of S.C. 55 from the block party scene on Queensgate Road.
Investigators found several shell casings on Queensgate Road, police said.
No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
