Rock Hill Police this weekend charged the second suspect in the armed robbery of a man who was looking to buy marijuana near the Winthrop University campus earlier this month.

Barry Sharpe, 20, of Turnstone Court in Rock Hill, was arrested Saturday and charged with armed robbery. He placed in the Rock Hill city jail, where he remained Monday under $25,000 bond.

Sharpe and a second man, 20-year-old Leroy Montez Shepherd III, also of Turnstone Court, are accused in the robbery of a man in the early hours of June 7. Shepherd was arrested June 17 and remains in the Moss Justice Center under $50,000 bond.

One victim told police he went to a home on Rose Street to buy marijuana, according to a police report. He said two men came to the parking lot to sell them the drugs, and one of the suspects pulled out a black revolver and pointed it at him. The suspects reportedly fled after the victim gave them $22.

The victims said they didn’t want to report the incident right away because of the reason they were at the home, but decided to report it because a gun was involved.
