2 Lancaster, SC men sentenced after pleading guilty to murder, attempted murder charges
A pair of Lancaster County men each will spend the next 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges in 2018 shootings where a man was killed and a woman was wounded, officials said.
Dorian Tyrese Clyburn and Brennan Jamil Patterson Jr. pleaded guilty to murder and attempted murder, according to 6th Circuit Solicitor Randy Newman and court records.
Vincent Barry Lambert Jr., 30, was killed in the shooting, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office deputies and prosecutors said. A woman in the car was wounded, officials said. A child in the car was not hurt at the time of the May 2018 incident, officials said.
Clyburn was 16 years old at the time of the shootings. Patterson was 17 years old.
Clyburn and Patterson pleaded guilty in a negotiated plea agreement and now are headed to the S.C. Department of Corrections, said 6th Circuit Assistant Solicitor Nicole Workman, who prosecuted the case with assistant solicitor Luck Campbell. The ages of the defendants at the time of the crimes was a factor in the sentencing, Workman said.
Judge Brian Gibbons accepted the plea and sentenced Clyburn and Patterson Tuesday in Lancaster County criminal court, records show.
Charges remain pending against a third defendant charged with murder in the case, records show.
