The bodies of two people believed to be a mother and daughter were found in a Rock Hill home Thursday, officials said.

The bodies of the two adults were in a home on The Crossing, a street off West Main Street that’s west of Heckle Boulevard, said Lt. Michael Chavis of the Rock Hill Police Department.

Friday afternoon, York County Coroner Sabrina Gast identified the people found deceased as Jacqueline Bissett, 82, and Tamara Dagenais, 59. Both women lived in the residence and are believed to be mother and daughter, coroner officials said Friday.

Autopsies on both to determine cause and manner of death are pending, Gast said.

Officers responded to the residence around 2:30 p.m. to conduct a welfare check, Chavis said. Officers found two weeks of mail outside the home, Chavis said.

Officers and Rock Hill Fire Department firefighters went into the home and found the two bodies, Chavis said.

Rock Hill police and the coroner’s office are continuing the investigation.
