York police: Gunman robs manager outside Burger King
York police are searching for a masked gunman who robbed the manager of a Burger King as she was leaving the restaurant at the end of her shift.
Shortly after midnight on Monday, June 22, a 44-year-old woman left the Burger King on East Liberty Street. After she locked the door, she told police she was approached by a man wearing all black and a mask over his face, pointing a handgun at her and saying “give me the money.”
The woman handed over a deposit bag containing an undisclosed amount of money and the robber ran to the area behind the rear of the business, according to the incident report. A witness waiting in the parking lot also reported seeing the robber, described as approximately 6 feet tall and about 150 pounds.
A K9 unit was able to track the gunman’s scent from the parking lot down East Jefferson Street to the parking lot of Harold C. Johnson Elementary School, where the dog lost the track.
