$5K ring stolen from truck at York gas station
A woman told York police on Friday her purse was taken from her truck while parked at a gas station. Among the items missing: her mother’s $5,000 diamond ring.
She said she parked her F-150 at the Shell station on West Liberty Street at 4 p.m. Friday and went inside the store to buy beer and pay for her gas. She then drove home to Clover before noticing her purse was gone, according to the incident report.
Inside the purse were $500 in cash, credit cards and the woman’s driver’s license, she said. But the most valuable lost items were three diamond rings worth a total of $5,600. The most expensive was her mother’s, she said, passed down through her family with great sentimental value.
The woman said she left the purse on her front seat while she ran inside the gas station, leaving the driver’s side door “wide open,” according to the report.
