Police: Rock Hill woman hit children’s father with car at Steak ‘n Shake

Rock Hill Police are searching for a woman who allegedly hit the father of her two children with a car while the children were in the car with her.

A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle about 7:30 a.m. Friday in the parking lot of Steak ‘n Shake on Cherry Road, according to a police report. The victim declined EMS but complained of pain in his right wrist.

The victim said he and the 31-year-old suspect began arguing while driving down Cherry Road, police said. The victim got out and started walking through the Steak ‘n Shake parking lot when the suspect stopped at an intersection.

The suspect pulled into the parking lot and drove toward the victim, hitting him with the SUV, police said. Employees of the restaurant said they saw the victim land on the hood of the SUV after he was hit. The vehicle reportedly traveled about 30 feet before the victim was “slung off” into some bushes.

Surveillance footage corroborated the victim’s story. The victim told officers the suspect may be dropping their children off at daycare; officers went to the daycare and found out the suspect had dropped her children off before they arrived.

The woman will be charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and leaving the scene of an accident.
