Police: Rock Hill woman holding baby hit, threatened with gun
A Rock Hill woman was choked and punched while holding a baby, then threatened with a gun, according to police.
The 20-year-old woman told police she was attacked at her Walnut Street home by a 30-year-old man. The attacker rang her doorbell after midnight on Wednesday, upset because he suspected her of cheating on him with a neighbor, a police report states.
When she opened the door, the man grabbed her by the throat and struck her in the face, according to the report. The woman was holding her 9-month-old daughter in her arms at the time, and the child hit her head on the wall when she was struck, the report states.
The man then reportedly took the woman’s cell phone so she couldn’t call police, went back to his car and returned with a pistol. She said the man pointed the gun in her face and threatened to kill her. He then fled the area.
A 55-year-old man who witnessed the incident told police the man attempted to hand him the gun after he threatened the woman, but he refused to take it from him.
Police are still searching for the attacker.
