Report: Intoxicated woman left grandson at scene of Rock Hill crash

A 50-year-old woman reportedly crashed her car while she was intoxicated, then fled the scene of the accident on foot, according to her teenaged grandson who told police he was in the car at the time.

Rock Hill police were called to a parking lot in the 800 block of Heckle Boulevard at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after a 1999 Dodge Dakota collided with a cement pillar. While investigating the crash, the officer was approached by a young boy who said the car belonged to his grandmother.

He told the officer he was in the car with his grandmother, who he described as “very intoxicated,” when she crashed into the pillar. She then ran from the scene, leaving the boy behind.

Officers searched the area for the woman, but were unable to locate her.
