Woman denied bail, accused of murder in SC ‘Good Samaritan’ case in Chester

A woman has been denied bail in a case where she is charged with the 2021 killing a South Carolina resident who helped the woman and another suspect, officials said.

Amber Nicole Harris, 30, will be kept in jail after Judge Paul Burch denied bail at a bond hearing Friday at the Chester County Courthouse, according to court records and lawyers in the case.

Harris and George Linward Faile have been charged by Chester County Sheriff’s office deputies with murder in the August 2021 death of Linda Robinson, 63, of Fairfield County.

Robinson picked the suspects up in her van in a “Good Samaritan” gesture before she was found beaten to death, according to Chester County Sheriff Max Dorsey, Sixth Circuit Deputy Solicitor Candice Lively, and Chester County Sheriff’s office arrest warrants.

Geoff Dunn, Harris’s lawyer, confirmed Harris’s bond was denied in court Friday, but declined further comment.

Faile, 32, also remains jailed without bail after he was denied bond earlier this year.

A conviction for murder in South Carolina carries a sentence of 30 years to life in prison.

No trial date has been set.

Robinson’s van remains impounded as evidence in the case. In December, a South Carolina non-profit gave Robinson’s family a vehicle because the van can not be released back to Robinson;s family.
