Gunfire pierces Rock Hill apartment
Rock Hill Police are investigating gunfire that pierced the wall of a Rock Hill apartment late Wednesday.
A man told officers about 9:40 p.m. that a bullet or firework entered the wall of his daughter’s bedroom in a unit at Heather Heights Apartments. Earlier, he had seen a 21-year-old man and a juvenile, both of whom he said live at the complex, in the breezeway of building 1727.
The resident said that while standing outside, he heard two “bang” noises he believed were fireworks, police said. He went inside his apartment and heard “a louder bang than before.” Outside, he saw a cloud of smoke and the same two suspects walking near building 1727.
Inside his apartment, the resident found the drywall damaged in the room closest to building 1727, police said.
Another resident told police he had arrived home about 9:30 p.m. and saw a shell casing about halfway up the staircase that leads to his apartment. A bullet was pulled from the wall of an apartment in building 1703.
No one was injured and no arrests have been made.
