Tega Cay car break-ins, burglary under investigation
Tega Cay Police are investigating several vehicle break-ins and an attempted burglary that happened early Thursday.
Six vehicles in the Lake Ridge community were entered between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, said Maj. David Nelson, a Tega Cay police spokesman. Only two of the vehicles were forcibly entered, with windows being broken. Miscellaneous items were reported missing from the vehicles.
Officers responded to a burglar alarm at a home on Orchid Way at about 5:45 a.m., which investigators believe is related to the rash of car break-ins, Nelson said. The owner was home but there was no confrontation with the suspect, and the owner was unable to provide a description.
This is the second rash of car break-ins in Tega Cay in as many weeks, Nelson said. Anyone with information on the crimes is asked to call the Tega Cay Police Department at 803-5480-0340 and ask for Lt. Vince Holland.
