Report: Rock Hill DUI suspect bit police during arrest at Bojangles
A Rock Hill woman accused of driving drunk in a Bojangles drive-thru lane reportedly bit a police officer during a struggle Friday.
Police were called to the Bojangles on East Main Street because a woman refused to pull forward to wait on her food, according to a Rock Hill police report.
Officers knocked on her window and noticed the driver, later identified as Angela Davis, 47, had slurred speech and smelled like alcohol. Police asked her to pull forward, but she refused to comply. Later she agreed to pull forward but said she “wasn’t going to stop,” the report states.
Eventually, police got her out of the car and a struggle ensued. An officer had to force her to the ground while he waited for back up.
While police were putting her in the patrol car, Davis reportedly lunged forward and bit an officer in the ear. The officer was treated at Riverview Medical Center and later cleared for duty.
A wrecker towed Davis’ car.
At the police department, her blood alcohol level was found to be .2 percent – more than twice the legal limit.
Davis was charged with driving under the influence, assault and battery and resisting police.
