1 hurt in Chester shooting, teen charged with attempted murder
A Chester man was charged with attempted murder after he shot another man in the leg Wednesday, according to the Chester Police Department.
Officers responding to a shooting Tuesday on Spring Street saw two men carrying a third, who was bleeding from his leg, Chief Andre Williams said. EMS transported him to Chester Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
Witnesses gave a description of the shooter and his direction of travel to officers, who arrested a suspect a short time later, Williams said.
Christopher Mayfield Jr., 18, was charged with attempted murder and placed in the Chester County detention center.
Williams said the York County Sheriff’s Office and K-9 team and the Chester County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search.
