Homicide probe, no arrests after Rock Hill man found shot to death in home

A Rock Hill man was found shot to death inside a home Friday morning, police said.

The victim, 51, was found dead by officers around 2:30 a.m. inside a house on Archive Street, said Lt. Michael Chavis of the Rock Hill Police Department. The victim was shot in the torso, Chavis said.

The victim has not been identified by the York County Coroner.

The front door of the house was open when officers arrived for a welfare check at the location, police said in a statement. The caller told police a person could be seen through the open door lying on the floor, police said.

No arrests have been made in what police say is a homicide investigation.

The area of the shooting death is in southern Rock Hill off Heckle Boulevard.
