Customer shot in attempted robbery at Lancaster County store

Sheriff’s deputies in Lancaster County are searching for four suspects who attempted to rob a convenience store on Sunday and shot a customer.

The shooting happened around 4 p.m. at the M&R Mini-Mart on Pageland Highway, near the Chesterfield County line.

Four men entered the store in an apparent attempt to rob it. One of the men fired his weapon inside the store and struck a 67-year-old man. The suspects then fled the scene without taking anything, leaving in a car believed to be a silver Honda CRV.

The shooting victim was transported for treatment at a nearby hospital.

Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the armed robbers.
